Where to start…

We do a lot of shit – no, really, a lot of shit…  And we live well away from our families.  So, how to let them in to see what it is that we are doing 2600 miles away from them.  Hmmmmm

Maybe a little explanation/background is in order here.

We are a couple of professional science and tech educators.  We have a tendency to nerd out over a variety of topics, most of those included here.  We cook together given the opportunity and share out respective crafts with one another as often as possible.  Any neat scientific discovery, exploration, or article is usually shared via various routes of discourse whether that be email, telephone, or in person over the latest new recipe.  We share a passion for travel, but presently we do not share a wallet to enable us to pursue it.  We get away when we can and enjoy even our shortest adventures as much as possible.

My name is Francesca and I come from a reasonably large family which I am sure I will mention at various times.  I have 3 brothers and one sister all living on the other coast as well as my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  This blog is for them, at least in part, so I can share what I do on a daily basis, even if I can’t be there with them.  I love them.

I’ve been crafting, baking, and cooking for about 20 years now.  I am annoyingly picky about my food so I tend to cook just for me – luckily Rob is the antithesis of a picky eater so he tends to eat anything that shows up on the table.   As far as crafting goes, crochet is my primary craft but that is only because I have been doing it the longest.  I also knit, tat, and occasionally make a mess of that whole fabric and thread craft also known as sewing.  My other half is a wonderful man, Rob, who will be the other voice on this site.
